LEADERSHIP

John Cleave: Dr. John B. Cleave has been designing and building large-scale multimedia simulations for companies like IBM, Andersen Consulting, Lucent, Nortel, and Harvard Business School Publishing. He has been training and supporting computer users for over 17 years, and for the last 13 years he has focused exclusively on simulation development. He has extensive experience across the gamut of simulation design and development – needs analysis, learning and interface design, programming, authoring, media production, quality control, and deployment. John has led development of over 50 large-scale simulations in addition to many smaller ones, and has won numerous awards for his work.

Dr. Cleave earned a masters degree in corporate education and a Ph.D in computer science from Northwestern University. He studied at the Institute for the Learning Sciences, a multi-disciplinary research center specializing in the design of learning-by-doing training systems, and his advisor, Roger Schank, is a renowned expert in cognitive science and computer-based training development. John’s dissertation research focused on the development of simulation authoring tools, and many of the ideas he pioneered have become standard in simulation authoring paradigms, including those of Experience Builders. Scott Cleave: Management and business advisory services are directed by Scott W. Cleave. He has over 20 years' experience in marketing and finance. His experience includes serving as CFO for companies in financial services, real estate and technology, as well as starting new enterprises in corporate finance, mortgage trading and investment management. Scott's clients included ABN AMRO, Frankel Brand Management and Huntsman Corporation. He holds a MM in marketing and finance from the Kellogg Graduate School of Business at Northwestern University.
